With this beer begins the story of our brewery and strong beers in Bavaria. It was the friars of the Order of Saint Francis of Paola who created this low-fermentation double malt beer. For over 375 years, Salvator has been brewed according to the handed-down recipe, which we have perfected over the years: a dark beer with a chestnut color, caramel-colored foam, and an enveloping chocolate fragrance. On the palate, it is pleasantly intense. The finest Munich malt is rounded off by a subtle hint of hops in the background. It has often been imitated, but without success. Like its ancestor, the name of all double malts traditionally ends with the suffix “-ator”!
Entirely crafted in the sole production center of Hijos de Rivera, the new Estrella Galicia beer boasts the 'crossed grain' symbol, as it is a gluten-free product authorized by FACE (Federation of Spanish Celiac Associations).
