Lager, low fermentation, Belgium, 5% Founded on a heritage of over 600 years of brewing tradition, the legacy of Stella Artois is also reflected in the uniqueness of its nine-step ritual (purification, sacrifice, alchemy, crown, removal, cut, evaluation, cleaning, presentation). It is no coincidence that since 1997, the brewery has organized the Draught Master, a competition in which venue managers compete by performing all nine steps of the Belgian ritual to achieve the perfect pour that allows for the best tasting experience of Stella Artois. Stella Artois should be served in its iconic chalice, designed to enhance the organoleptic qualities of the beer and elevate the tasting experience. The golden rim, in addition to giving a refined tone, enhances the flavor; the tulip shape helps create the perfect opening to highlight the hop aromas; the elongated stem prevents the heat of the hand from warming the beer inside, thus allowing it to maintain the right temperature for longer.
German Pils, low fermentation, Germany, 5.2% Löwenbräu is one of the six breweries authorized to serve beer at Oktoberfest, during which it produces its renowned Oktoberfestbier, a Bavarian beer with a bright color and an alcohol content slightly above average. Its stand is among the largest and most recognizable at the festival, thanks to the roaring lion at the entrance and the 37-meter tower easily visible from every corner of the Theresienwiese, the venue of Oktoberfest. Löwenbräu is brewed following the principles of the ancient German Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot), one of the oldest food regulations still in effect, as well as a synonym for high quality. This decree, issued by Duke Wilhelm IV of Bavaria in 1516, mandated the use of only three ingredients: water, barley malt, and hops. The fourth ingredient, yeast, was added later because its effects were not yet known. It seems that Mötley Crüe, the American rock band active in the 1980s and 1990s, added the double umlaut (̈) to their name as a tribute to Löwenbräu, the group's favorite and most appreciated beer during its founding period.
Belgian Ale, top fermentation, Italy, 6.2% Maledetta is born from the meeting of Belgian brewing culture and Anglo-Saxon tradition. The bold English-style hopping perfectly complements the intensely fruity and floral notes developed by the yeast selection. On the palate, the hint of honey is followed by caramel, which then evolves into citrusy flavors and blends with a pleasant bitter and spicy note.
In Maledetta, Birra del Borgo experiments with an indigenous yeast selected from those "captured" over years of experimentation in the Monti della Duchessa surrounding the brewery. From this unique yeast comes a unique beer.
Birra del Borgo dedicated this beer to the Tuscan cigar and the Maledetto Toscano club, a spontaneous gathering of cigar enthusiasts. This is because the aromas and flavors of Maledetta enhance the cigar tasting experience.
Blanche, low fermentation, Italy, 4% Railroad Giasa Blanche 0.33 is a craft beer in Blanche style that enchants with its freshness and unique personality, produced by the renowned Railroad brewery in Seregno (MB). This distinctive beer appears hazy and light, adorned with a white, creamy, and persistent foam that preludes an extraordinary tasting experience. On the nose, seductive citrus and spicy notes emerge, skillfully achieved through the use of yuzu and cardamom, ingredients that provide a refined and contemporary aromatic profile. On the palate, it reveals itself as extremely fresh and drinkable, where the spicy notes harmoniously blend with the citrus ones, creating a perfect balance that captivates from the first sip. Made with a selection of premium ingredients – water, barley malt, spelt, wheat, coriander, orange peel, hops, and yeast – this Blanche represents the excellence of Italian craft brewing artistry.
IPA, top fermentation, United States, 5.9%
Goose IPA is a beer with abundant hopping inspired by the ancient English IPAs. These originated at the beginning of the 19th century, during the height of colonialism, when English breweries began producing more bitter and hop-rich beers for the export market. The higher presence of hops increased the stability and preservability of the beer, allowing it to survive long sea voyages and very hot climates. The success of these beers was also due to their being a safe alternative to local drinking water as well as a national symbol for the many English residents in the colonies.
Modern IPAs have evolved repeatedly, a style that is constantly reinterpreted and reimagined, but always represents the power and personality of the humble hop. All this can create some confusion, which is why it’s useful to explain the differences. English IPA. A modern evolution of historical IPAs. Pronounced aroma of English hops, with metallic and earthy notes, pronounced bitterness with a good body and fairly intense malty notes. Typically deep amber in color (5 – 7% ABV). American IPA. A well-hopped but balanced American IPA, often brewed for those who love British beers. Clear, with balanced bitterness, balanced malty notes, and high levels of Cascade and other citrusy and resinous American hops. Typically deep golden in color. (5.5 -7.5% ABV) - Goose Island IPA is the perfect example of this style.
August Busch III was inspired by hops grown in the Bavarian region of Hallertau, located along the 49th parallel. Thus, in 1987, he began producing hops at the same latitude in northern Idaho, in a very isolated area just 10 miles south of the Canadian border. The territory surrounding Elk Mountain Farms was chosen for its ability to cultivate many of these European varieties that prefer long hot days and cool nights. At the peak of the long summer days, the farms receive nearly 16 hours of sunlight. Over the past 29 years, the farm's hop-growing area has expanded to nearly 700 hectares, making it the largest hop farm in the world. During the farm's early years, the intent was primarily to grow aroma hops. Currently, ten commercial varieties and 108 experimental ones are cultivated.
Tripel, Italy, 8% Dry and drinkable body that hides a dangerously alcoholic beer. Bergamot pairs with a blend of Trappist and Wit Bier yeasts, giving it a citrusy and slightly bitter note. Always hits the mark.
How it was born: strange but true, we are not fans of the classic Tripel style—those beers usually with sweet malty and alcoholic notes, hard to drink a whole glass!
However, we had a clear idea of how we could make this style more "drinkable" according to our taste: we kept a base leaning toward sweetness but balanced it with bergamot peel and coriander during the wort boiling phase. These also contribute to a strong citrus imprint from an aromatic perspective.
Then we ferment the wort, combining the Trappist yeast, the classic yeast of this style, with Wit Bier yeast, typically used in Blanche beers, to achieve a more spicy and refreshing aromatic profile. Now a staple, it quickly became a reinterpretation of a Belgian style and is appreciated throughout Italy for its uniqueness.
A beer suitable for those seeking a complex, fun, and dangerous drinking experience. The label's style reflects the texture of bergamot, featuring some bullet-like marks on its surface.
Ipa, Italy, 6.1%
Beer characterized by a blend of classic and modern American hops, mixing citrus and resinous notes with the tropical side of next-generation IPAs. All paired with a base of pale malt that provides the right body to support its hoppiness. Don't be fooled by its golden color; Chain Breaker is a true revolution. It was born to break the mold—now it's your turn!
